Most Confusing Thing I’ve Said as a Parent Recently…
(on our way to get ice cream, we pass by some fields where cows graze that the kids like to watch)
“Maybe on our way we’ll see some cows! You know, ice cream comes from cows.”

The most dangerous tradition we hold about work is that it must be serious and meaningless. We believe that we’re paid money to compensate us for work not worthwhile on its own. People who are paid the most are often the most confused, for they know in their hearts how little meaning there is in what they do, for others and for themselves. While money provides status, status doesn’t guarantee meaning. They’re paid well because of how poorly work compensates their souls.

This is a tragic, but really interesting read from the widow of Robin Williams about the brain disease that he suffered from prior to his death in 2014…

Wanted: Forks
Somehow we only have, like, three forks in this entire house.
I don’t know how that even happened – we’ve got a billion spoons, but Sara and I literally ate our dinner with toddler forks the other day because all of our forks were either dirty or missing.
Can you buy just forks without also getting spoons and knives as well???
I know you can buy them one at a time, but that seems inefficient. We need, like, an eight-pack of forks to help bring balance to our silverware drawer.
This issue is clearly going to require so much more research than it actually deserves… 😛

I’m the furthest thing from a morning person, but it’s surprisingly pleasant and welcoming when I drop Christopher off at school and nearly every teacher I pass says, “Good morning!”
